 Two months after former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron was seen on camera at a Coldplay concert with Kristin Cabot, his company’s chief people officer, a source close to Cabot is finally speaking out to clear the air.

The viral moment happened in July at Gillette Stadium when the concert’s “kiss cam” caught Byron, 51, with his arms around Cabot, 53. As the camera zoomed in, Byron quickly ducked out of view while Cabot covered her face. The awkward reaction fueled speculation, with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin even joking on stage, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”

That single moment exploded online, turning into headlines, memes, and intense tabloid attention. Both Byron and Cabot, who were senior leaders at Astronomer, resigned shortly after. The company said its leaders “are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met.”

But according to a source close to Cabot, the public story is very different from reality.

“There Was No Affair”
