The announcement came just two days after Charlie Kirk was shot and killed on a Utah university campus, allegedly by a 22-year-old gunman.

In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), the organization confirmed:
“The Turning Point Board has unanimously elected Erika Kirk as the new CEO and Chair of the Board.”
The post also noted that Charlie Kirk had previously expressed his wish for his wife to assume leadership in the event of his death:
“In prior discussions, Charlie expressed to multiple executives that this is what he wanted.”
