Lil Tay has clarified her controversial statement that women over the age of 25 working traditional 9-to-5 jobs are “failures.” The internet personality, who recently joined OnlyFans upon turning 18, claimed she made a staggering $1 million within just three hours. She proudly declared herself “still the youngest one doing it” and addressed critics, calling out “grown a** haters” who had criticized her since she was nine, challenging them to reconsider in light of her success.

Lil Tay first rose to fame in 2018 by flaunting wealth and luxury possessions online. This time, she backed her claims with income receipts from OnlyFans. According to her, she earned $511,003 from subscriptions, $486,558 through private chats, and $26,736 in tips — all within three hours. If accurate, this would make her one of the fastest earners in the platform’s history.  

After hitting the $1 million milestone in record time, Lil Tay posted a bold message online targeting women in traditional office roles. “If you’re over the age of 25 and still working a 9-to-5, you are a failure,” she said. “By then, you should’ve already made your bag. And ladies, every single one of you should drop the link, like me. Literally, just make your bag. Who gives a f**k what anybody thinks?”

In an interview with Page Six, Lil Tay revealed that she had made $15 million in just two weeks on OnlyFans. She defended her earlier remarks, explaining that they were meant to inspire women to explore alternative ways to earn money. “I’ve been misunderstood,” she said. “Every woman should be empowered and do whatever the hell they want to do.” She added that she now earns “more money than most people ever touch in their lifetime.”

However, the reality of OnlyFans shows a different picture. Reports indicate that 76 percent of the platform’s income goes to just 0.1 percent of its creators. Lil Tay brushed aside such concerns, insisting that her message was about financial independence. She also addressed the common debate over whether money brings happiness, stating bluntly: “People say money doesn’t buy happiness, but it does.” 

Her journey to financial independence wasn’t easy. Despite portraying herself online as a wealthy young star, Lil Tay revealed she had been broke for years and had never received financial support from her family. She claimed she was “disowned” and “kicked out” after her family discovered she had joined OnlyFans.

Lil Tay also addressed concerns about the nature of her work. She said she wasn’t worried about “creepy” older men subscribing to her page, arguing that people had been viewing her photos since she was 15 and that she might as well profit from it. She even shared that one of her top spenders once requested she pose with bottles of baby oil — an anecdote she compared to extravagant parties thrown by Sean “Diddy” Combs. 

Given her young age, her decision to join OnlyFans has sparked significant controversy. Many criticized it as “sad” and questioned the ethics of such a choice at 18, pointing out the rush of subscribers the moment she turned 18. Some even questioned her real age, noting inconsistencies in her past statements. When she first became famous in 2018, Lil Tay claimed to be just nine years old — a claim that does not align with her recent statement about turning 18 in 2025.
